Would you ever change your name if it would help you get ahead in your career?

I wouldn't change my name if it helped get ahead in a career. I feel my original name holds meaning since birth and identifies who I am. I think once you change your name you're changing apart of your original history and if that history is bad don't change the name change the situation that brought about the bad name.
