Can anyone provide a source where Adolf Hitler took away people's freedom?

The book "The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich" by William Shirer is widely recognised as one of the best, most comprehensive books covering the period from Hitler's rise to power to his suicide in 1945. It should give you plenty to work with. It clocks in at 1000+ pages with a very detailed bibliography and index. I would be very surprised if any reputable public library or university library didn't have at least one copy.
